Safeguarding and vulnerable tenant support

At Midvale Housing Advocacy Service, safeguarding is an integral part of our strategic advocacy. We recognise that housing disputes often involve vulnerable individuals who may face significant barriers to justice. Our service provides a protective framework to ensure that every tenant’s rights are upheld, regardless of their personal circumstances.

Our commitment to welfare

Vulnerability-led advocacy: We specialise in supporting tenants who may be at a disadvantage due to age, health conditions, or social isolation. We ensure that these factors are never exploited by landlords or corporate entities to gain a procedural advantage.

Working with support agencies

We work closely with support agencies and local authorities to create comprehensive safeguarding policies. This collaborative approach helps us to devise individual support plans for tenants on benefits or those with mental health issues, ensuring their specific needs are met and their housing situation is stable.

Risk-based assessments

Every instruction begins with a welfare-focused assessment. If we identify immediate risks such as severe biohazards, harassment, or the withdrawal of essential services we take immediate action to escalate the matter to the relevant statutory authorities. This proactive approach makes a real difference in helping vulnerable tenants.

Agency Referrals & Collaborative Partnerships

Midvale Housing Advocacy Service works closely with professional support agencies to ensure that vulnerable individuals have access to high level housing advocacy and strategic enforcement. We provide a structured referral process to facilitate a seamless transition from general support to specialist housing intervention.

For Referring Agencies

We accept referrals from local authorities, social work teams, charities, and community support organisations. If you are supporting a client facing complex housing disputes, disrepair, or potential homelessness, you can refer them directly to us through our Agency Contact Page.
